The NAMS-MOLA 2025 Annual Conference is an academic event that gathers Hispanic/Latino/a/e/x (hereafter LHS+) identifying and affirming health experts and medical Spanish educators and leaders. The conference provides education centered on LHS+ health topics for physicians, health professionals, researchers, educators, and students.
This event continues the collaboration and expansion of NAMS’ Medical Spanish Summit and MOLA’s Latino Health Symposium and represents our first conference outside of the Chicago area. The joint conference will be held over two full days to allow for expanded content and networking opportunities.

Objectives:

  • Health Disparities: Identify disparities and structural barriers affecting Hispanic/Latinx communities and propose solutions.

  • Communicative and Cultural Competencies: Describe the impact and propose strategies for achieving language and culturally concordant care.

  • Education: Develop and implement educational strategies to promote multilingualism and culturally sustaining care, respectful of patients' language preferences and values.

  • Collaboration and Networking: Facilitate collaboration and networking opportunities among healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and community leaders to share best practices.

  • Policy and Advocacy: Advocate for policies that enhance language access, support the integration of medical Spanish in healthcare settings, and improve quality of care for Hispanic/Latinx patients.
